Locals supporting Locals
July 22, 2016
It is well known by now that we love to use locally source produce. Buying local is a quality that is being embraced by restaurants and the local community alike. It’s a trend that we hope sticks. There are great farms and farmers markets in our area that have made buying local as easy and affordable as going to the super market.
We had the opportunity to visit Claydon Park in Milton for a guided tour around the fruits and vegetables they have growing. A lot of the produce we cook with at Tallwood comes right out of the historic Milton ground to your plate.
If you drive a little further out of the heart of Milton you’ll find our favourite mushroom farm, Milton Mushrooms, where they are promoting and encouraging the community to grow your own organic mushrooms in the backyard.
Both these local growers can be found on Thursday afternoon at the Gaia Farmers Market Ulladulla, along with many others who are all passionate about providing our community with product and produce that has been sourced or grown locally.
There is a comradery throughout town, everyone working towards a common goal. We have so many great resources and so much potential to feed back into the community.
